The Inspiration of Black Dresses for Red Carpet

She may be one of country music's most famous faces.





But Faith Hill surprised her fan-base when she skipped the Academy of Country Music Awards on Sunday night - to attend a film premiere in New York, instead.




The blonde star and her husband of nearly twenty years, Tim McGraw, were seen walking the red carpet at a Tribeca Film Festival screening in Manhattan.

Wearing a black dress with a plunging neckline - which also featured fringed tassels along the hemline - the 47 year-old chart-topper looked effortlessly stylish as she attended the Dixieland premiere, in which she stars, at the SVA Theater.


She capped the look with a pair of strappy shoes and flaunted her relatively new cropped hair style.

Meanwhile, her handsome husband wore a fitted grey suit with a crisp, light-blue shirt.

Faith's decision to miss the Academy of Country Music Awards will surely have disappointed many of her followers - not least because it's the industry's equivalent to the Academy Awards.
The ceremony, which took place on Sunday, took place in the Dallas Cowboys' stadium and celebrated its 50th year.
The show featured 23 performances across two stages, and presenters included Troy Aikman, Tony Romo, Reese Witherspoon, Sofia Vergara and Steven Tyler, who is recording a country album.

But Faith clearly didn't feel like she was missing out.  

 

Faith has a small role in the movie, which shows Hill playing the mother of a young man who is newly-released from prison and falls for the troubled girl next door.
Directed by Hank Bedford, who recently directed Channing Tatum's Foxcatcher, it's described by move industry insiders as an indie thriller.
Clearly proud of his wife, Tim took to Twitter hours before the screening to share a picture of her in character and say: 'Faith as Arletta in Dixieland. Can't wait to see it tonight!!!!'.

 

 

 

Together, as her and Tim posed for pictures on the red carpet, the duo looked as loved-up as ever.
For fans of the This Kiss singer, the sighting will be a welcome one - as previously she has had to deny rumours that her marriage was on the brink of collapse.
Speaking in 2013 to Entertainment Tonight's Nancy O'Dell, she said: 'We don't even know where this stuff came from. [The children] know the truth . . . the people that you're around they know the truth.'
The film was officially released in the USA on 19 April.
